A Message from the Chief

Hello and welcome to the Harmony Fire District’s official website.

The history of the fire service was and still is today based on incredible people.  Individuals who put themselves in harm’s way every day to provide the best fire and emergency medical services to the community in which they serve. The Harmony Fire Department is made up of these individuals. People who provide the best care and support to the citizens of this district and surrounding districts and towns.

The Harmony Fire Department is a (paid-on-call) volunteer fire department located on Route 44 on the East side of Glocester, RI, in between Chepachet, Smithfield, Scituate and Burrillville. The members of this department are a respected group, who truly are here to help you in your time of need. All of the members here are trained in-house, locally and at the state level, for which the department provides reimbursement assistance. This department, though volunteer, has a per/diem rescue crew on-duty from 8am-midnight, 7 days a week.

As most of us know, the fire service is a “hands-on” job.  However, we have a task for most everyone. We do more than just fire and EMS calls here, we also have fun! That’s why in your spare time you should visit this website or our Facebook or Twitter pages and see what the members and myself have been up to. If you’re wanting to become a volunteer or looking for a starting point towards a career in the fire and/or medical fields this department is for you. We will strive to help you become that firefighter or Emergency Medical Professional that you want to be.

Thank you for visiting our web site and please come by the station sometime and speak with me or a member!

Please stay safe and have a great day.

Richard A. Waterman, Chief
